About the Event

One day, 8-hour class, qualification and classroom time included. This course provides applicants the required knowledge to pass the BSIS written test and the range qualification. The course is an 8-hour classroom and a minimum 3-hour range course. This training is an essential requirement to becoming a security officer in the State of California. All applicants who wish to become part of the growing private security industry as armed security guards in California must successfully be trained and pass the written examination in these subjects before they can submit their CA Guard Card Application and undergo a criminal history background check through the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Cost:

$195 + $20 Range Fee

Must Bring:

**100 rounds of ammunition needed**

**50 for Firearm and 50 qualification**

2 or more magazines

Holster

Please bring a pen/pencil with a notebook for your notes

Firearm(s) that you will be carrying

All firearms must be unloaded, locked, and put away before entering the range 

Copy of military DD-214, Birth Certificate, Passport, or documents that verify legal work in California 

Qualification Portion:

Qualifiying at different distances from 10 feet to 45 feet

Initial Course: 8-hour classroom discussion and written test. Followed with 4 hours of range qualifying
